Community and User Content Rules

Notsu OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 16305121, VAT number EE102489600, registered address Soo tn 2, 10414 Tallinn, Estonia ("Notsu", "we", "us"), operates the FishSmash service. The FishSmash community feed is optional, opt-in and moderated. These rules apply to every catch, photo, nickname and piece of text you share.
2. Do not dox a spot or a person
Never post exact coordinates, GPS screenshots, precise access descriptions or anything that identifies a private or protected spot, and never post another person's location, home, vehicle plate or contact details. Use the water-name or approximate-area privacy options instead.
3. Prohibited content
The following is removed on sight and can end your account:
- illegal fishing, poaching, protected species, out-of-season or oversize/undersize retention;
- wildlife cruelty, or harm to birds, mammals or protected habitats;
- harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discrimination;
- sexual, graphic or gratuitously bloody imagery;
- spam, engagement farming, repeated reposting or bulk automated uploads;
- sale or promotion of counterfeit gear, stolen goods or unlicensed services;
- dangerous advice — ice safety, boating, wading, electrical or chemical practices that could injure someone;
- impersonation of another angler, a retailer, a sponsor or FishSmash staff.
4. Authenticity
Post your own catches, taken by you or with the photographer's permission. Do not post stock, AI-generated or other people's photos as your own catch. Illustrative images used by FishSmash itself are labelled as illustrations and are never presented as community catches.
Do not exaggerate length, weight or species. Unverified catches are labelled as such until an operator reviews them.
5. Reporting and enforcement
Every shared catch card has a report control. Choose the closest reason and add detail. Reports are confidential; we do not tell the reported user who reported them.
Our operators review reports and may hide content, reject a catch, remove points, suspend or terminate an account, and where content appears criminal, report it to the authorities. Enforcement is proportionate: a first minor breach usually gets a warning.
If you think we got it wrong, contest the decision through the contact form with your report reference.
6. Photo rights
You keep your copyright. You give us only the limited licence described in section 8 of the Terms, which lets us display your shared content inside FishSmash. Anyone identifiable in your photo must have agreed to it being shared.
