Cookie and Similar Technologies Notice

Notsu OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 16305121, VAT number EE102489600, registered address Soo tn 2, 10414 Tallinn, Estonia ("Notsu", "we", "us"), operates the FishSmash service. This notice explains the cookies and browser storage FishSmash uses. Today FishSmash uses strictly necessary technologies only, so we do not show you a consent banner — there is nothing optional to consent to.

1. Strictly necessary technologies (always active)

These are required to deliver a service you have requested and are exempt from prior consent under the ePrivacy rules. You cannot switch them off without breaking the service.

  • Authentication session storage: keeps you signed in and refreshes your session token. Stored in your browser's local storage by our authentication provider. Cleared on sign-out.
  • Security and abuse prevention: short-lived counters that enforce rate limits on the contact form and on repeated checks.
  • Local application state: your draft finder input, basket contents and interface preferences, kept in your browser so a refresh does not lose your work.

2. Optional analytics and marketing

FishSmash currently runs no analytics cookies, no advertising pixels, no social plugins and no cross-site trackers. We do not fingerprint devices.

If we later introduce optional analytics or marketing technologies, they will be disabled by default and loaded only after you give explicit, informed, un-ticked consent through a consent control, and you will be able to withdraw that consent as easily as you gave it. This notice will be updated and re-versioned before any such technology is enabled.

3. Third-party content

Retailer pages are fetched by our server, not by your browser, so visiting a comparison does not expose you to that retailer's trackers. If you click through to a retailer, you leave FishSmash and that retailer's own cookie policy applies.

4. Controlling storage

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. Clearing them signs you out and discards local drafts; it does not delete data already saved to your account.
