Rewards, Challenges and Prize Rules
Version 1.1 · Effective 24 August 2026 · Last updated 24 August 2026
Notsu OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 16305121, VAT number EE102489600, registered address Soo tn 2, 10414 Tallinn, Estonia ("Notsu", "we", "us"), operates the FishSmash service. These rules govern FishSmash points, badges, challenges, the weekly leaderboard and any reward you claim. They form part of the Terms of Use.
1. Nature of points
Points are a loyalty and engagement score inside FishSmash. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, cannot be transferred, sold or gifted between accounts, and are not a payment instrument, security or virtual currency.
No purchase is required to earn points or to claim a reward. Buying gear through FishSmash does not increase your points.
2. No gambling, no random draw
There is no lottery, raffle, random draw or game of chance in FishSmash. Rewards are earned through bounded, verifiable activity and skill-related challenges, and are claimed at a published points price while stock lasts. Nothing here constitutes gambling under Estonian law.
3. How points are earned
Points are awarded by the server only, never by your browser. Typical awards are the first valid catch log of the day, completing useful detail fields, recording a catch-and-release, maintaining a streak, and completing a published challenge. Each award is capped.
FishTokens are a separate, closed-loop service credit with no cash value. A verified catch that you voluntarily mark "Exact spot — public" earns the amount shown before submission (currently 75 FishTokens), subject to the ordinary contribution-cycle cap.
- One prize-eligible catch per user per calendar day (UTC).
- Daily and weekly ceilings apply to every award type.
- We never award points for the number of fish killed, for size records, or for volume of uploads.
- Awards are written to an immutable ledger, so every balance can be explained line by line.
- The exact-spot award is idempotent: the same catch can earn it only once. It is reversed if the catch is rejected or deleted, or if exact-public sharing is withdrawn.
4. Verification and fraud checks
Every catch starts as pending and is clearly labelled unverified. Prize-relevant catches are reviewed manually by an operator, who may ask for additional evidence. Automated checks reject future dates and duplicate photos (by perceptual hash), and flag implausible measurements and repeated submissions.
Clients cannot set their own verification status, cannot self-award points and cannot edit the ledger. Attempting to do so is a breach of the Terms.
We may cancel, reverse or withhold points, badges and claims where abuse, misrepresentation, duplicate accounts or a technical error occurred. We will tell you why.
5. Catch legality and welfare
You may only log catches that were lawful where and when they were made. You are responsible for holding any required licence or permit and for observing closed seasons, minimum and maximum sizes, bag limits, protected species and gear restrictions. Catches that appear unlawful are rejected and may be reported.
Content that shows avoidable harm to fish or wildlife is rejected and does not earn points.
6. Reward catalogue, stock and expiry
Each reward shows its points price, available stock, validity period and any territorial restriction. Rewards are fishing gear, discounts or sponsor prizes. There are no cash prizes.
Rewards are available while stock lasts. We may withdraw or substitute a reward of equal or greater value where a supplier fails, and we will publish the change.
Rewards may be restricted to specific countries where shipping, sponsor terms or law require it. You must be 18 or older to claim a physical prize; younger anglers need a parent or guardian to claim on their behalf.
7. Claiming and claim status
Redeeming creates a pending claim; it is not an instant dispatch. Claim statuses are shown transparently as pending, approved, rejected, shipped or expired, with the reason where a claim is rejected.
Points are held when you claim and are consumed when the claim is approved. If a claim is rejected for a reason that is not your fault, the points are returned to your ledger.
8. Sponsor terms and tax
Sponsored rewards may carry the sponsor's own terms, which we publish with the reward. Where a prize is taxable in your country, declaring and paying that tax is your responsibility. We report prizes where the law requires it.
9. Leaderboard
The weekly leaderboard is opt-in. You appear under a nickname you choose or as "Anonymous angler". We never show your email address, your exact location or your full catch record on the leaderboard.
10. Changes and termination
We may change these rules, add or retire challenges, and end the programme with reasonable notice. Where the programme ends, we will publish a final claim window during which you can spend eligible points.
