Tie it step by step

   Standing line Moving tag end

   Step 1 of 5

   Keep the braid under firm tension — around a rod butt, hand or knot tool.

   Step 2 of 5

   Plait the braid over and under the leader, alternating, 20 times.

   Step 3 of 5

   Lock with two half hitches over both lines using the braid tag.

   Trim the leader tag, then add three to four half hitches over the braid alone.

   Wet, pull hard to bed the plaits, and trim.
